FAQs
What's a Direct Support Professional?
We define mental health Direct Support Professionals (DSP) as people who aren't mental health professionals but still work in a mental health support or treatment capacity. Some examples would be volunteers for a non-profit that works with homeless youth, paramedics, Peer Support Professionals, and Health and Human Services employees that help clients access housing or employment.
Where are the live trainings held?
Live, in-person trainings for 30 people or less can be held in our Learning Lab in Goose Hollow, otherwise we rely on the client to provide an adequate space for a larger team.
Do you offer certifications for these trainings?
We do not offer certifications in trauma-informed care, but we do have online courses available for Continuing Education hours.
Is there a virtual option?
We prefer in-person trainings to help facilitate conversation and training activities, but virtual trainings can be provided as needed.
How long are the trainings?
Each training and workshop is custom designed for the client's unique needs. Certain topics require more time to adequately train on, but we can generally build out a training to fit your time constraints.
Can I book trainings on an ongoing basis?
We'd love to build you a custom plan for quarterly, bi-annual, or annual trainings to refresh your team or get new employee/volunteer cohorts all trained up.
