My name is Athena Phillips, and I am the creator of this course, a result of my 30 years of experience in mental health, 20 years of which have been devoted to trauma. Overarchingly, I have been inspired by the strength and resiliency of people who have faced the unimaginable. Orenda is built on the idea that all humans have the capacity for growth after trauma and the route to recovery is a trail blazed by the unique gifts of the survivor. Orenda is a word coined by the Iroquois that describes a mystical quality carried by all people that allows us to effect change on ourselves and the world around us. Orenda trauma coaches are always looking for that trait in their clients. The mission of The Orenda Project is to help foster recovery from trauma through the introduction of coaching to build global capacity and interrupt the intergenerational spread of trauma and related social and individual conditions. Our lens extends beyond the here and now. We believe that through the expert support of survivors, we are creating a healthier, happier world while changing the trajectory of future generations. FAQs

Can I get a refund?

We offer refunds for those who have completed less than the first module and have decided it is not the right fit. Those who have viewed or continued beyond the first module are not eligible.

Will my state board accept these CEs?

This course is not eligible for continuing education credits.

Can I interact with the instructor? 

Yes, you can interact with the instructor, however it is optional. Dr. Phillips offers monthly meetups for students and there is a community space for interaction.

How long do I have to complete the course?

You can complete the course at your own speed. If you need to take a break, you can simply log out and our platform will save your place. 

Do I get a certificate immediately?

Upon completion of the course, you will be able to download your certificate. To qualify, you must complete the final exam, log 50 hours of coaching practice, and submit all required quizzes and the feedback survey.

The certificate is not issued immediately upon finishing the lessons; it becomes available for download once you have successfully fulfilled all of these requirements.

Are online courses HIPAA-compliant?

Any case studies included in our courses have been appropriately anonymized to be HIPAA-compliant.
